Getting into Manhattan Via Train
(In Total, about 20 minutes from our place to Ground Zero)
From our Bed and Breakfast it is about a half of a mile to the Journal Square Path Train stop. It is a very safe and pleasant walk to the train. From this train stop you can arrive directly into Manhattan in about ten minutes. You can walk to the train stop from our Bed and Breakfast in about ten minutes. (If I am available, I will drop you off at the Journal Square Path train stop for free.) It takes about 2 or 3 minutes to get there by car from our place. Coming back you can take a taxi from the Train Station for about $5.00. (Though it is only about a 10 minute walk.)
The bottom line is that from the time you leave our place to the time you arrive in Manhattan will be about 20 minutes to the World Trade Center (WTC) or Ground Zero stop. To get to midtown (33rd Street stop) takes less than another 10 minutes. (When you get out here you are less than two blocks from the Empire State Building)
Walking from our Bed and Breakfast to the Journal Square train stop couldn't be much easier. We are on Mercer Street. Out of our house you make a right turn. You take Mercer Street exactly six short blocks to Bergen Ave. You make a right onto Bergen Avenue and you go 6 short blocks to the train stop. The Journal Square Path Train is on your right immediately past the Taxi stand that you will see on your right after you walk the six blocks.
