We are conveniently located approximately one mile from the Holland Tunnel. From the Holland Tunnel you can arrive into Manhattan in a matter of minutes. Buses, trains, and ferries are all within short walking distances to get to New York City and other nearby attractions. When there's no traffic you can drive from Jersey City's B&B into NYC in less than ten minutes.
Getting into Manhattan Via Train (Totally about 20 minutes from our place to Ground Zero)
From our Bed and Breakfast it is slightly more than a half of a mile to the Journal Square Path Train stop. From here you can arrive directly into Manhattan in about ten minutes. You can walk to the train stop from our Bed and Breakfast in about ten minutes. (If I am available, I will drop you off at the Journal Square Path train stop for free.) It takes about 2 or 3 minutes to get there by car from our place. Coming back you can take a taxi from the Train Station for $5.00. (Though it is only about a 10 minute walk.)
The bottom line is that from the time you leave our place to the time you arrive in Manhattan will be about 20 minutes to the World Trade Center (WTC) or Ground Zero stop. To get to midtown (33rd) Street stop takes only about another 10 minutes. (When you get out here you are less than two blocks from the Empire State Building)
Walking from our Bed and Breakfast to the Journal Square train stop couldn't be much easier. I am on Mercer Street. Out of my house you make a right turn. You take Mercer Street exactly six short blocks to Bergen Ave. You make a right onto Bergen Ave. and go 6 short blocks to the train stop. It's on the right immediately past the Taxi stand that you will see on your right after you walk the six blocks.

We are 7 minutes from the Holland Tunnel by car.
When entering New Jersey stay straight for about 3/4 of a mile and on your left you will see signs that say 139 W and/or US 9/US 1. On your right you will see signs that say NJ Turnpike and/or 95W. DO NOT GET ON THE TURNPIKE---Stay to left of it! Also, do not get onto 139 or US9/US1.
Instead, take the next exit which is basically the middle exit where the sign says "Kennedy Blvd/Jersey City." (The road is about 6 lanes here and you are taking the two middle lanes.)
Then turn left at Baldwin Ave.(This is the 2nd traffic light after the exit; Palisade Ave. is the 1st light.
Go exactly 8 traffic lights and turn left onto Montgomery Street.
Go 1 block and turn left onto Mill Road.
Go one block and make a left onto Mercer Street.
We are the first house on the right. There's a big white gate in front of the house. Our address is 442 Mercer Street.
DIRECTIONS TO JERSEY CITY'S BED AND BREAKFAST FROM THE NEWARK AIRPORT.
It is only a 20 minute taxi ride to us from Newark (EWR) airport, but it will take you 60 to 90 minutes to get to us by public transportation. (It's a round about way you have to go using public transportation)
At the airport ask information how to get to Penn Station in Newark. (You can get there by bus or train.) From Penn Station in Newark you take the Path Train to the JOURNAL SQUARE stop in Jersey City. From there you can take a taxi to us for $5.00 or walk to us by taking Bergen Ave.
6 blocks to Mercer Street and making a left onto Mercer Street and walking 6 blocks to 442 Mercer Street. (We are the last house on the left).
DIRECTIONS TO JERSEY CITY'S BED AND BREAKFAST FROM PENN STATION.
It's very easy to get to us from Penn Station. From Penn Station in Manhattan you are only
1 block or maybe 2 or 3 blocks from the closest Path Train. The Path Train is what you take to our place. It's a 20 minute ride on the train.
From downstairs at Penn Station ask someone how to get to the Path Train that goes to New Jersey. I'm not sure if you stay underground the whole way walking from the trains at Penn Station to the Path Train that goes to us; maybe you might have to walk a block or two above ground, but I'm pretty sure either way it will take you less than 5 minutes and a maximum of ten minutes to get from the trains at Penn Station to the Path Train.
You then take the Path Train to the Journal Square stop. Make sure that the Path Train you get onto stops at Journal Square. (I think a majority of them do stop at Journal Square, but just make sure yours does before you get on it.)
Then take a cab to our place. They charge $5.00 and a cab is always available there 99% of the time. We're at 442 Mercer Street which is on the corner of Mill Road. If you prefer you can walk to us in about 10 minutes.
To walk to us take Bergen Ave. 6 blocks to Mercer Street and making a left onto Mercer Street and walk 6 blocks to 442 Mercer Street. (We are the last house on the left).
